At the end of an Old Town alley, there is a burst of deep pink bougainvillea that catches my eye before I even notice the cafe itself. That is usually how this cafe begins for me. It has become one of my regular hideouts. The overall mood is lively but still modest. Instead of polished design, it leans on worn wooden furniture and small decorative details that make the place feel like a friend's workshop rather than a staged cafe. There are not many seats inside, but the table height is decent enough for opening a laptop. If I sit by the window and sort out a few tasks while looking outside, I often end up focusing more than I expected. The real highlight, though, is the coffee. On hot days I usually order an iced black coffee, and the care in the brewing is obvious. The bean character opens up clearly in the cup, with acidity and nuttiness balancing each other in a way that makes me want to slow down and drink it carefully to the last sip. Still, I would not frame this as a true work cafe. The room is small, the seats are close together, and conversations from nearby tables carry easily. In a different mood, that compactness can even lead to casual conversations with strangers, but it also means the place can feel noisy. There are often many smokers around, and because cannabis smoking is allowed here, anyone sensitive to lingering smells may want to avoid it. When I visited, there were also plenty of tourists stopping in just to take photos. Even with those trade-offs, the cafe remains one of the places in the Old Town where I trust the coffee most. I come here when I do not want to work too hard, when I feel like making a bit of small talk, or when I simply want to slow down for a while. And one more thing matters more than it should: the cat here is extremely cute.
